Hooked Rag Rug

April 24, 2013

I have always wanted to hook a rag rug, and when a friend told me about this rug, I was interested in seeing it. It was hooked by Pam Smith, and listed in the 1993 Celebration of Hand Hooked Rugs 111 book.
I am amazed at how much it looks like a rag rug and how she incorporated her cat into it.
I must hook this style soon, along with fringe on the ends!
Just plain and simple broken lines of color.

Have a wonderful day!

My Friends Home

April 23, 2013

Last week a few friends and I went to visit our good friend Carole O'Neill.
She made the most delicious lunch!!
Carole lives in a wonderful Chester County home built in the late 1700's, and as you will see
has many wonderful collections. In her spare time, she enjoys painting primitive portraits, folk art
and Rufus Porter style murals.
You can find some of her paintings at our good friend, Carolescountry.com.
 Isn't her home just beautiful!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Simply Delicious!

April 17, 2013

Good afternoon everyone,
I would like to share a quick, easy and delicious Pineapple Angel Food cake recipe.
All you do is combine the Angel Food cake with a large can of crushed pineapples, stir with a big spoon until it's mixed well, then pour into a 9x13 ungreased pan and bake according to the box mix.
That's it!! If you wish, serve with fresh fruit and whipped cream.
Enjoy!

Lollipop flowers

April 9, 2013

This design is my hand-drawn adaptation of an antique rug.
Below you can see the different wools I used.
After pressing and binding with twill tape, I then aged it with black walnut dye.

I'll be offering it soon on my Rugs For Sale page.
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Have a great day!

My comment page is now working, would love to hear from you!
