The gangs all here!

June 30, 2013
Well, all but one!
Rae Rae is the only cat that stays indoors at all times.
She is the runt of the bunch and was always getting picked on.
All four cats were once homeless.

Rae Rae lives with my son in the Spring house most times.
She is his little princess.

Lizzie showed up the same time as Rae Rae, not sure if they are related.
Lizzie is a Polydactyl cat, she has thumbs.

Here's a close up.

This is sweet Kitty.
She was fur and bones with 4 kittens when we first saw her.
She had two litters with her brother before I was able to have her spayed.
Oh, it was so hard to say goodbye to her kittens!
She and Lizzie are best friends!
She is about to do her happy roll.

Now onto Brother!!
Brother is Kitty's brother and I think they were born in our barn just before we moved in almost 7 years ago.
He is somewhat wild, he will come to me and rub up against me but I can't touch him.
He has had a lot of medical issues and thank goodness my vet will treat him just hearing his symptoms.
As you can see he is looking for lovey's from me and the girls!

Well, that's all for my feline kids!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
xoxo Louise

Hooked Mat

June 26, 2013

I started this mat a while ago, hooking it every so often.
I'm so happy it's finally finished and I can offer it to you on my Rugs for Sale page.
My rugs look so much better in person!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Poems

June 24, 2013

In memory of Marcia Ann Parker, the young girl I wrote about in my previous post.
In the next few days I would like to share the poems she loved
 and pasted into her little Bible.
She dated this page 1842.
My father presented me this book
Marcia Parker

Fifty Years Apart.

They sit in the winter gloaming,
And the fire burns bright between;
One has passed seventy summers,
The other just seventeen.

They rest in a happy silence
As the shadows deepen fast;
One lives in a coming future,
And one in a long, long past.

Each dreams of a rush of music,
And a question whispered low;
One will hear it this evening,
One heard it long ago.

Each dreams of a loving husband,
Whose brave heart is hers alone;
For one the joy is coming,
For one the joy has flown.

Each dreams of a life of gladness,
Spent under the sunny skies;
And both the hope and the mem'ry
Shine in the happy eyes.

Who knows which dream is the brightest?
And who knows which is the best?
The sorrow and joy are mingled,
But only the end is rest.

Early Bible

June 23, 2013

Every so often I sit and look through this wonderful little Bible that I gifted myself with a few
 years ago just before Christmas. The young girl that owned it so loved poetry and saving
things that were dear to her heart.
I hope you are able to read some of the poems.
I have also listed some history that was also listed about her family.
I know it's a lot of information, but thought some might like to read it.

Have a wonderful day!!
xoxo Louise

          • Samplers

            June 18, 2013

            Hi everyone,
            I have taken a few quick snap shots of some of my favorite hand-stitch samplers.
            I have been so very busy these last few weeks.
            I can't wait to get back to hooking my antique adaptation rug!!!
            I hope you all have a wonderful day!!
            xoxo Louise

            Antique Sampler

            June 8, 2013

            Back in the 80's and 90's I had an obsession with stitching reproduction samplers.
            With the warmer weather coming, I'd like to start stitching again.
            I love the idea of making a sampler into a bag like the one on the cover of
             Sampler & Antique Needlework.
            Isn't this just beautiful!!!
            Doesn't it make you want to stitch one?
            Have a great weekend!
            xoxo Louise

            Early Log Homes

            June 6, 2013

             I wanted to share a few photos of my very favorite Early Log Homes!!
            Wouldn't you love to own one, I hope to someday!
            I could see myself sitting by the window hand-stitching or hooking a rug.
            Oh, they make my heart go pitter-patter.
            Have a great evening!!
            xoxo Louise
